UK distributor 88 Films have announced 3 new classic Hong Kong movies to be released on Blu ray in March next year.
First is the Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung action drama Heart of the Dragon which is a story of a cop who forsakes his dreams of sailing around the world so that he can care for his mentally disabled brother. Innocently caught up in a gangland fight, the brother is kidnapped to force the cop to turn over a police informant. Release 23rd March.
Next is Come Drink With Me from legendary director King Hu. Starring Cheng Pei Pei and is about a group of bandits kidnaps the governor’s son and demands their imprisoned leader to be set free in exchange. Release 9th March.
Finally one of the greatest of the classic Shaw Studio, The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter. The Yang family was the loyal strong-arm of the Imperial army. But a jealous General betrays the Eilte Spearman and their father to the opposing Mongol army. After an ambush of a battle, only two of the seven sons survive. One remains hidden by the family while the other lives on the run. The traitorous general must find them and silence them before either of them can testify to the Emperor of his treachery. Release date 23rd March.
All will be remastered true HD with original language and English dubbed options. News of any special features will be announced later.
